HQ vs this lab, tokens, Size Tax, accounts, and how to export the picture of your MyPLAYER — not just the file.
The lab
HQ is 2K's official phone builder: sliders, 15 slots, face scan, upload to console. It will not warn you about Size Tax, leftover badge tokens, Fuse-before-spend, or cap breakers that don't mint tokens. CourtCraft is the planner. You make a legal pie here, export the card, then type the same numbers into HQ so you don't burn a slot.
No. NBA 2K HQ is 2K's official companion: full builder, face scan, Crew, QR share, and upload to your console (15 builds). We are not Visual Concepts. We cannot log into 2K or push a build to your console. We tell you what to type into HQ.
1) Make the pie here. 2) Open NBA 2K HQ and match height, weight, wingspan, then attributes and badges. 3) On your console, import the HQ build. Keep the exported player card on a second screen while you tap.
No. Tables come from public 2K27 community captures (including NBA2KLab HQ dumps). Jumpshots and paid motion tools stay on their sites. Treat every gate as provisional until you confirm it in HQ or the in-game builder.
The six-slice spread of your MyPLAYER: Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, Defense, Rebounding, Physicals. 2K calls that shape a pie. CourtCraft draws it from your current attributes so you can see — and export — the actual visual, not just a file of numbers.
Read the Start page — six things HQ will not do. Then open the builder, or the four-step wizard. Optimize and Coach sit on the pie. Copy the numbers into HQ last.
Building a pie
Open /builder. Flip Rec or Park first — Optimize and scoring follow that mode. Tune physicals (Size Tax cliff at 6'10"+), attributes (they mint token pools; cap breakers never mint tokens), then badges Fuse-before-leftovers. Use Optimize to load a pulse-hot Signature / HQ pie / archetype, Coach as the pre-copy checklist, and Copy into HQ for frame → native attrs → Fuse-first badges → takeover. Paste a MyPLAYER sheet into Ask for a paste-only audit. Check Meta → Weekly community pulse before you chase a YouTube paste.
Weekly Meta pulse (guides + patch notes — provisional): pick role and Rec/Park before height paste. 6'7 two-ways stay hot inside a wider 6'4–6'9 window. Cap Breakers: max five per attribute, permanent, specialization-locked — never mint badge tokens; preview at 99 OVR. Patch 1.3 toned Shot Artist and Calibrated takeovers. Fuse before leftovers; Legend only on Fuse; Size Tax at 6'10"+. Confirm every threshold in NBA 2K HQ. Jumpshots stay on NBA2KLab / community motion sites — not here.
Fuse refunds the token cost of a badge and adds a permanent +1 or +2. Legend exists only on a Fuse slot — attributes top out at Hall of Fame. If you spend tokens before you pick Fuse pairs, you will rebuild.
Two related frame costs. Under 6'10": min weight and short wingspan cut Perimeter D and Driving Dunk — that is not Size Tax on badges. At 6'10"+ (the cliff): Size Tax adds +1 token on perimeter badges, and HQ never labels it. Stay off the cliff unless the extra length is the whole point of the pie. Cap breakers never mint the tokens you need to pay it.
Ratings that unlock the moves you actually feel. Budget 91 handle for SGA escape, 94 mid or three for KD Go-To, 95 interior for Gold Wall-Up — then spend leftover tokens. Maxing every slider is how pies die.
Qualifying is not enough. Each discipline has a limited token pool. You buy the badge or it stays unequipped. Day-one builds should work without Rec, Season Pass, or Crew bonus slots.
No. The 10 launch cap breakers raise attribute limits. They do not mint tokens. If 94 three is a later breaker, the shooting pool must already pay for the HoF badge.
Five performance buckets, filled by the action you actually do. Dunking will not fill a Sharp meter. Equip one ability per bucket. Accelerator fills faster; Evergreen lasts longer.
Female MyPLAYERs can play in the City (co-ed). MyCAREER and most competitive modes stay male-only this year.
Save and export
No. Guests can build, save on this browser, export a player card, and export JSON. A free account (Google, X, or email) puts the locker on every device. Sign in is in the header. Forgot password is on the sign-in page. No 2K login, no purchase.
In the builder, hit Save. That writes to this device. If you are signed in, it also syncs to your account locker. If you are signed out, Save still works locally and offers Sign in so the pie can follow you.
On Sign in, open Forgot password, enter your email, and use the one-time link we send (expires in one hour). Google/X accounts reset with those providers, not here.
On Start, Saved, or in the builder: Export player card. That downloads a PNG MyPLAYER card — the 2K six-slice pie with ratings on the slices, OVR, Rec vs Park, the six ratings that matter, badge hexes, takeover, and token spend. Keep it open while you tap HQ. JSON is a separate backup you can import later.
Yes, if they sent the JSON. Import JSON on Start or Saved. A PNG is a picture only — it will not load into the builder or into NBA 2K HQ.
In the builder, Coach reads the pie you have open — leftover tokens, Size Tax, nearest animation walls, Rec vs Park — and tells you what to type into HQ. Tap a preset or ask your own question. It always returns a lab read. A second opinion from Grok appears when that service is up.
